Privacy policy
Last updated: April 2026
AlbionBlack is a small independent publication. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written to be readable rather than comprehensive.
What we collect
We collect your email address if you submit it via the shop notification form. That is the only personal data we collect directly.
We also use standard web analytics to understand how the site is being used — pages visited, approximate location by country, browser type. This data is aggregated and not tied to individuals.
Why we collect it
Your email address is collected for one purpose: to notify you when the AlbionBlack shop opens. We will send one email for that purpose. We will not send newsletters, marketing, or any other communication unless you separately opt in to something that does not currently exist.
Who we share it with
Your email address is stored in Brevo, a contact management platform. It is not sold, shared with third parties for marketing purposes, or used for anything beyond the notification described above.
Analytics data is processed by Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC). We use Consent Mode v2: analytics cookies are only set after you accept cookies via the notice on this site. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed and no data is sent to Google. When analytics is active, IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage.
How long we keep it
We will retain your email address until the shop notification has been sent, at which point it will be deleted from our contact list unless you have taken a further action (such as making a purchase) that requires us to retain it.
You can ask us to delete your email address at any time by writing to hello@albionblack.com.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@albionblack.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use one analytics cookie — _ga and associated Google Analytics cookies — but only if you accept cookies via the consent notice. If you decline, no cookies are set. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Your cookie preference is stored in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on subsequent visits.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not notify you by email of policy changes.
